Wireless keyboards transmit data for hacking!

Wireless keyboards transmit data for hacking!
Several popular brands of wireless keyboards are betraying their owners, broadcasting their keystrokes for savvy hackers to intercept from hundreds of feet away.

According to research published recently by Bastille, a cybersecurity company, eight wireless keyboards manufactured by major electronics companies transmit information in a way that makes it possible for a hacker to eavesdrop on every sentence, password, credit card number, and secret typed on them.

Wireless keyboards generally protect their users by encrypting the data that they send back to the computers they’re paired with. That way, even if hackers try to listen in on the data stream, they’ll get nothing but an undecipherable mess. Read More The Financial Express

The Privacy Shield allows companies to transfer personal data from the EU to the United States.

EU governments approved the pact earlier this month, but 28 data protection authorities had yet to comment. They have now said they will not challenge the deal for at least a year.

This means that no legal objection to the framework will be launched until it has had time to go through its first annual review next summer. Read More The Financial Express

Samsung to launch Galaxy Note 7 on August 2

Samsung Galaxy Note 7
Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy Note 7 will be launched on August 2 in New York that proved previous rumours about the launch date.

Samsung confirmed the news in a blog post and provided the world with its usual vague poster.

As for what this means for a release date, well, it’s anyone’s guess. Samsung could hit the ground running and confirm a release date immediately after launch or, more likely, it could wait a few weeks before unleashing the handset to retailers.

Samsung will almost certainly try and get the Galaxy Note 7 out before the release of the iPhone 7; no one wants that kind of heat accompanying the release of a new phone, regardless of its capabilities. Read More The Financial Express

You can now use Prisma on Android phones

Prisma
The artistic photo-filter app Prisma is now freely available to everyone on Google's Play store for Android owners.

The app, which lets you choose from a surprisingly large number of filters and turn ordinary photos into mini-artworks, can be found here. You will want to actually use that link, as searching for the app on Google Play will likely net several dozen (!) knockoffs, none of which you probably want to install on your phone.

Coming from Russia-based company Prisma Labs, Prisma first appeared on iOS a few months ago. Instead of applying some pixel-rearranging filter to the content of the photo, the app — according to its makers — uses neural networks and AI technology to recreate the photo anew, which is why the results are so vastly better than most "artistic" photo filters we've seen. German engineers have created a camera no bigger than a grain of salt that could change the future of health imaging -- and clandestine surveillance.

Using 3-D printing, researchers from the University of Stuttgart built a three-lens camera, and fit it onto the end of an optical fibre the width of two hairs.

Such technology could be used as minimally-intrusive endoscopes for exploring inside the human body, the engineers reported in the journal Nature Photonics.

It could also be deployed in virtually invisible security monitors, or mini-robots with "autonomous vision". Read More Bbarta24.net
